Summerschool ‘Een nieuwe Rijn, een nieuw landschap?’

Hoe ziet Nederland eruit als de Rijn fundamenteel verandert? Wat betekenen droogte, piekafvoeren en een veranderend watersysteem voor ons landschap, onze steden en onze leefomgeving?

Tijdens de Landschapstriënnale Summerschool 2026 duiken studenten vier dagen lang in de toekomst van het Nederlandse rivierenlandschap. Vanuit het thema Een nieuwe Rijn, een nieuw landschap? onderzoeken deelnemers hoe de regio Arnhem zich kan voorbereiden op een rivier die wezenlijk anders functioneert dan we gewend zijn.

In multidisciplinaire teams werk je aan toekomstscenario’s, ontwerpen en nieuwe perspectieven voor het landschap van morgen. Van analyse tot concept en verbeelding – samen met ontwerpers, experts en medestudenten uit binnen- en buitenland.

Voor wie?
De Summerschool is bedoeld voor studenten van opleidingen in landschapsarchitectuur en stedenbouw, én aanverwante studies zoals land- en watermanagement, bos- en natuurbeheer, planologie en management van de leefomgeving.

How will the Netherlands look if the Rhine fundamentally changes? What do drought, peak river discharges and a changing water system mean for our landscape, our cities and our living environment?

During the Landschapstriënnale Summer School 2026, students will spend four days exploring the future of the Dutch river landscape. Under the theme A New Rhine, A New Landscape?, participants will investigate how the Arnhem region can prepare for a river system that functions fundamentally differently from what we are used to.

Working in multidisciplinary teams, you will develop future scenarios, designs and new perspectives for the landscape of tomorrow. From analysis to concept and visualisation – together with designers, experts and fellow students from the Netherlands and abroad.
